'I want to stop the seemingly endless roadworks in Bournemouth'

Every weekend my team and I knock on doors across the constituency. We do this not to canvas votes, but to stay connected to the issues that matter most to you. This is one of the most important things I do because, alongside our public surgeries and events, it helps me to identify common challenges people face and work out how best I can make a difference. Unsurprisingly, the things that come up most often are the issues that are most local. Last weekend in Redhill it was fly-tipping, pavement parking and potholes. In West Howe the weekend before it was poor housing conditions, dog poo bins and rubbish on the grass verges. Many of these issues are the Council’s responsibility, but I take action where I can – either dealing with them directly or by working with local councillors, the council or police to solve them. And I have countless examples of this – from reporting missed bin collections and supporting positive activities for young people or helping residents with complex housing or schools issues.
